It can be so strange and just awesome how people can enter into your life. Taylor emailed me last year asking me to help plan her Yosemite National Park waterfall elopement. I informed her that I was actually, in fact a photographer and not a planner, but I could provide her with any help if she needed some ideas. Cut to about a month or so later and she asks me to shoot her wedding in April in Yosemite National Park. I was one absolutely, hundred thousand percent in and completely stoked. Steve and Taylor were quickly married below Yosemite Falls at the height of waterfall season in the park. In fact, we couldn’t even get near the falls because they were incredibly wild. Their ceremony was truly one of my favorite ceremony’s of all time. Short, sweet and basically just the two of them, well of course besides a few hikers stopping to see the falls. Afterwards, they tucked their marriage certificate inside a reliable blue JanSport back pack and we zoomed around the park searching for that golden light for the rest of the afternoon. We laughed, gushed about our awesome rescued animal families, and compared accents. (I learned that the word “bad” can be said in many different ways)
They traveled alone from the mid-west to get married in the emerald forests of Yosemite. She wore lace up boots under her wedding gown. They ran in fields and perched on the side of picturesque view points. They had each other, forever, in their favorite place.
