Madonna Inn Marie Antoinette Styled Shoot
The extravagant and nostalgic Madonna Inn, known for its unique and lavish styling in each of the inn’s 110 rooms, was the perfect backdrop for a Queen Marie Antoinette styled shoot. Designed and orchestrated by Janet Tacy of Sandcastle Celebrations. Janet brought together a team of vendors that shared her vision for this rich and opulent inspiration shoot.
Our gorgeous model, Katie showered in fluffy pink and red garden roses
and surrounded by ornate gold cherubs reflected the true essence of Queen
Marie Antoinette, a woman known for her lavish spending on fashion, luxuries, and gambling. Flickering candlelight bathed the tables in a soft romantic glow. Gorgeous pink and gold plate ware and ornate gold flatware adorned the table. The glassware echoed the lavish place settings with cut crystal glassware in clear and pink. A textured rose tablecloth completed the luxurious table design.
Rachael Manuele of Eden Floral brought the feeling of Queen Marie Antoinette’s love and admiration for flowers to the forefront of these images. Old world blooms and extravagant arrangements frame each scene reminding us of the queen’s love and need to be surrounded by flowers. Each over-sized floral arrangement is brimming with blooms and color. The bridal bouquet was oversized with beautiful trialing jasmine to match the grandeur of the bride’s gown. The one of a kind beaded gown, found at a Hearts Desire, accentuated the model’s feminine curves with ease and elegance. A handcrafted feathered headpiece reflected the opulent style of the queen. As well, the model’s pink hair pays homage to the abundance of pink found throughout the Madonna Inn.
Delicious treats were designed by Jenny from Cake Cathedral. The three-tiered cake was covered with bright pink fondant and embellished using a number of techniques. Fabric-like ‘tufts’ intersected by gold sugar buttons completely covered the bottom tier. Sugar lace that had been air-brushed with edible gold provided an interesting texture when overlaid on the bright pink middle and top tiers. Since the theme was Marie Antoinette, the queen herself (created as an edible image) became the focal point, surrounded by an ornate gold sugar frame. Lastly, sugar flowers and
berries were used to create a topiary for the top of the cake as well as side
embellishments. Adding to the theme, cupcakes were adorned with sugar
medallions, each with a different floral cameo in the center. And what would a French-themed gathering be without a nod to the famous croquembouche…this time using pink and white meringues in lieu of the traditional profiteroles?! All the desserts were displayed on antique and vintage trays and platters from Embellished Vintage Rentals.
