Tropical backyard micro wedding

Chelsea and Spencer are my dream couple. They unfortunately fell victim to what I’m calling, “2020; the wedding dream crusher”, but then decided to come up with a plan B. And what a plan B this was. They chose have their tropical backyard micro wedding at Spencer’s parent’s home in sunny San Clemente, which actually looks like a real wedding venue. This historical Spanish style home has a awe-inspiring tropical botanical garden right in the front yard. Gigantic banana leaves tower over the stone pathways leading to the backyard where they held the sweet ceremony. A circular arch was covered in palm fronds, ginger, birds of paradise, and orange roses by Spencer’s aunt, a talented florist. There was even a small “getting ready” room for Chelsea and a tiki-esque bar set up behind the house. This location was also minutes from the beach where we caught a crazy sunset. I couldn’t imagine their day being any better. Chelsea and Spencer smiled the entire time. 2020 was definitely a lesson in flexibility that taught many of us that sometimes the your plan B turns out to be better than your original one.

Also I can’t help but include part of the sweetest review EVER. Here’s what Chelsea said about working together:

“Leading up to our big day, we exchanged a bunch of ideas and sent each other pictures for inspiration, including tons of photos of the new “venue” and by the time Michelle got there, she knew exactly what to do. She has such a brilliant eye, and has a way of directing her shots that makes you feel comfortable and confident. I personally can be a little camera shy, but Michelle put us both 100% at ease so we could be our natural selves. She beautifully captured every detail of us in our element, and the photos are STUNNING. I literally cried when I saw them! I have never felt more beautiful, and my husband has never looked so handsome. They’re everything I imagined and SO much more.We adore Michelle and quite frankly, want her to photograph all the big milestones for the rest of our lives. She’s simply the best, the coolest, and the most stylish photographer of our dreams.”
